Open Collaborations, Open Scholarship: Science Literacy Week Wikipedia Edit-a-thon @ BC Post-secondary Libraries (Webinar)
Editing Wikipedia is a way for faculty, students and staff to engage in open collaboration, and contribute to public knowledge. Wikipedia Edit-a-thons improve the encyclopedia and can be a great way to work with the platform and consider how it might be used in your courses or practice.
Join Katherine Miller (Librarian, Woodward Library), and Will Engle (Strategist, Open Education Initiatives) on August 28th for an interactive webinar discussing the upcoming Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, the process of editing Wikipedia and how to prepare for hosting or participating in a Wiki-edit-a-thon at your own institution.
This event is a kick off for the Science Literacy week Wikipedia Edit-a-thon held at libraries at BCIT, Douglas College, KPU, SFU, and UBC (and perhaps more institutions) on September 18th. We invite everyone who is attending the Edit-a-thon to attend, and we encourage you to attend if you have interest in learning more about editing Wikipedia or are curious to know more.
