OER Repository Rubric
The Open Education Resource Repository (OERR) rubric [PDF] was developed by BCOEL to provide a process for evaluating open education resource repositories. There are numerous sources of open education materials available; however, understanding which spaces to begin searching for these materials can be daunting. The rubric was developed to evaluate open education resources repositories in the following areas:
- Authority
- Audience
- Access & Diversity
- User-friendliness
- Subject Coverage
- Search Functionality & Browsing
- Media Type
- Licensing & Permissions
The rubric sets out a definition for each area and an evaluation based on a levelled system (e.g. Level 3 – highest rating).
