The BCOEL group began in December 2013, after a few librarians began to meet and share ideas, tools, and strategies to support faculty engaging in OER projects.
The BCOEL Steering Committee supports open educational practices in British Columbia. We build community, foster connection, and promote collaboration across the post-secondary sector based on our shared values.
Our Goals
- Advocate for open education in the post-secondary sector.
- Meet regularly and share information between each other and the wider BCOEL group.
- Organize and promote events for Open Education Week and Open Access Week.
- Maintain a relationship with BCcampus.
